  • PVC-Coated Stainless Steel Cable Ties for Enhanced Cable Protection

PVC-coated (Polyester-coated) stainless steel cable ties combine metal fastening strength with a thick protective plastic jacket, helping reduce abrasion and direct metal contact when securing cables, hoses and industrial equipment.

Available in SS201, SS304 and SS316, with a self-locking ball-lock head and multiple sizes for demanding installations.

Thick PVC Jacket for Extra Protection

Unlike thin-coated or uncoated stainless steel ties, the thicker PVC covering provides a cushioned contact surface between the metal strap and the secured bundle.

    Key benefits include:

    • Extra Edge Protection: Helps reduce abrasion and pressure marks on cable insulation and hoses.
    • Cushioned Contact: Provides an additional protective layer between metal fasteners and sensitive surfaces.
    • Reduced Metal Contact: Helps limit direct contact between dissimilar materials where the covering remains intact.
    • Additional Surface Protection: Reduces exposure of the covered steel surface to moisture and contaminants.

    Self-Locking Design with Uncoated Head

The integrated ball-lock mechanism provides secure, non-releasable fastening.

The stainless steel strap is PVC-covered, while the locking head remains uncoated, maintaining a conventional metal locking-head structure.

    Larger Finished Width & Thickness

The PVC covering significantly increases the strap’s finished dimensions. Available finished widths are 5.5 mm, 9 mm and 16 mm, with overall thicknesses of approximately 1.0–1.2 mm.

Always select the product according to its finished coated dimensions, not only the underlying steel strap size.

    Typical Applications

    • Industrial Cable Harnesses: Additional protection against abrasion and repeated contact.
    • Machinery & Equipment: Fastening cables and hoses near metal structures.
    • Electrical Installations: Protected cable bundling around equipment and cable trays.
    • Marine & Industrial Environments: Stainless steel fastening with an additional protective covering.
    • Pipe & Hose Management: Cushioned fastening where direct metal contact is undesirable.

    Material & Performance

Available in stainless steel grades 201, 304 and 316, with lengths from 150 to 1100 mm.

Current product specifications list an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, subject to the selected PVC material and application conditions.

Suitable tensioning and cutting tools are recommended for controlled installation.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    1. What is the advantage of PVC-coated stainless steel cable ties?

The thick PVC covering provides a cushioned contact surface, helping reduce cable abrasion and direct metal contact while retaining the strength of the stainless steel strap.

    2. Is the locking head also PVC-coated?

No. The standard design has a PVC-covered steel strap and an uncoated stainless steel locking head.

    3. Are coated dimensions different from the steel strap dimensions?

Yes. The PVC covering increases the finished width and thickness. Customers should use the overall coated dimensions when checking installation clearance and tool compatibility.

    4. What is the difference between epoxy-coated and PVC-coated cable ties?

Epoxy-coated ties generally have a thinner protective coating, while this PVC-covered design provides a substantially thicker contact layer for additional cushioning and edge protection.

    5. Can PVC-coated stainless steel ties be used outdoors?

Outdoor suitability depends on the stainless steel grade and the PVC covering’s UV and weather resistance. Confirm the material specification before long-term outdoor installation.
